We have been nominated for Sustainable School of the Year at the Liverpool Echo Environment Awards.
Our project with Clan and Liverpool John Moores University has seen our nursery children design and build a birdhide using revolutionary building materials.
We will find out later tonight at the award ceremony if we have won!
As part of our Environmental Curriculum children regularly attend campfires.
Today to celebrate Christmas we sang songs and made chocolate smores (melted marshmallow and chocolate biscuit sandwiches). Father Christmas arrived and gave every child a christmas tree.
Our Eco Schools Ambassador Plaque has arrived along with our Ambassador Flag.
As soon as the wind picks up we will have a picture of our Ambassador flag to share.
Our solar panels produced 2.88 MWh in May, which beat April’s record of 2.58MWh, fingers crossed that June will produce even more energy.
Our 4th Green Flag blowing in the wind
On Wednesday 27th February 2013, Everton Nursery School and Family Centre was assessed as part of our application to attain Eco Schools Ambassador Status. During the same visit, we were also inspected for our 4th Eco Schools Green Flag.
We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded our 4th Green Flag and we await the decision regarding Ambassador Status in May.
The award is due to the hard work of Lesley Donohue and the rest of our Eco Committee.
